Hamilton Wood Type Museum

I recently visited the Hamilton Wood Type Museum in Two Rivers, Wisconsin. If you have any interest in the history of printing, letterpress or type, it is well worth the trip. The 40,000 square foot museum and functioning workshop is located inside the factory of The Hamilton Manufacturing Company (Est. 1880), once the largest producer of wood type in the USA. The museum is home to millions of pieces of wood type, as well as posters, and the tools and equipment used in the making of and printing with wood type. Hamilton Wood Type was recently featured in the documentry, Typeface.

Norman Mailer's Nautical Apartment For Sale

For sale at $2.5 Million is this nautically themed 2 bedroom Brooklyn apartment, the last residence of author Norman Mailer. Looking like Captain Nemo's library on The Nautilus is the multi-level loft space at the top of the apartment, designed to look like inside of a ship. Wooden ladders lead you past galley-like bedrooms and bookshelves to the top, and amazing views across the east river.
